Hi, I’m Molly Moran with green sweep here in Albuquerque New Mexico, the leader in green house cleaning. The question is: “How are you different from other cleaning companies?”
We are a values based business. Many companies out there only care about the bottom line and at green sweep, we focus on our clients, the planet, our employees, and our community. Many companies use toxic chemicals to clean, not caring about the impacts on our health or the environment. Additionally, many people who work in the cleaning industry are exploited.
When I started green sweep in 2009, from the get-go, the plan was to do business better and to do business in an ethical way. To this end, we research our products and supply lines, and use only products that are non-toxic. No harm to you, to your family or pets, the staff that are exposed to them day in and day out, or the environment.
We also use equipment that is more environmentally sound than a lot of stuff out there: vacuums with hepa filters and noise-reducing technology that doesn’t contribute to hearing loss or noise pollution. We use micro-fiber cleaning cloths instead of paper. Microfiber is an amazing material that on its own with just a little bit of water, can remove 98% of dirt and toxins from a surface.
We pay our staff a fair wage, and contribute to social security. We give paid time off and allow for flexible working hours. Many of our team members are mothers – when they have to stay home with a sick kid, we don’t fire them. We work with them to support their families and their jobs.
Lastly, our commitment is to give back to the community in which we live. We choose a few charitable organizations a year here in Albuquerque to contribute to, financially and otherwise.
Being a values-based business makes decision making very simple. If it isn’t good for our clients, our staff, or the environment, we just don’t do it.
