Hi, I’m Molly Moran with green sweep here in Albuquerque New Mexico, the leader in green house cleaning. Today I want to share with you a question that you should ask anyone you consider hiring to clean your home.
You know, I am asked this question so often. “Why is green cleaning important?”Green cleaning is important for two primary reasons: human health and environmental health. Many “traditional” cleaning chemicals contain ingredients that have known links or are contributing factors to illnesses such as asthma, cancer, and reproductive disorders.
Taken alone, these products may just be irritating and not overly harmful, but because so many household products contain toxins, our bodies are exposed at much greater concentrations, creating a “toxic overload” that can in fact contribute to illness.
Did you know that there are no regulations or even required testing around cleaning products? It’s true. Companies can create products and put them in the market without any regulations. Experts say that the average household has over 60 toxic chemicals. All of these add up, which is why it is important to use non-toxic cleaning chemicals.
The environmental health piece is also key. Most cleaning solutions end up in our water, eventually. If they are filled with plastics or chemicals, not only do they pollute the water, they pollute the plants and animals that rely on our waterways for sustenance.
