When the new year rolls around, people often make resolutions to eat better, sleep more, exercise more, get a new job, etc. We know that if we actually write down what our resolutions or goals are and then break down these goals into steps, we will have a much better chance of succeeding.
Does anyone besides those of us at green sweep think often about how to keep our homes clean and organized while juggling children, a full time job, exercising, pets, friends and family? Oh yeah, and sleeping too? It’s hard! In our quest to make it easier for ourselves, we have come up with a few ideas that we thought might help you.
Create goals for each member of the family that will help keep home organized. Here are some ideas:
- Everyone makes their own bed before leaving the house each day
- Putting clothes in their proper place when changing in the evening
- Picking the kitchen up after every meal rather than letting dishes pile up
- Sorting & opening mail daily to reduce those crazy stacks of magazines , catalogues (if you haven’t opted out like we have : https://www.catalogchoice.org/), and bills. Do it the green sweep way, stand next to the recycling bin as you do this.
- Putting away laundry as it comes out of the dryer
- Most useful: A chore chart for each member of the family!
Good luck – let us know how it works for you!
